WEST MIDLANDS TRADE MISSION TO DELHI, INDIA

Buller Jeffries’ partner, Caroline Coates, President of the Birmingham Law Society will be visiting Delhi, as part of the West Midlands Trade Mission organised by Birmingham Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  The event will take place between the 17 - 21 November 2008.

This will be the second visit of the West Midlands Trade Mission to India the past year which also saw a recent visit to the UK by various Indian law firms.

The focus of the mission will be to create trade links and bring business into the West Midlands area.

Caroline’s objectives during her visit will be:

  • To understand the Indian legal market

  • Identify business development opportunities for mutual benefit

  • Showcase the legal services available in Birmingham in her role as President of the Birmingham Law Society

This is a rapidly expanding market where cultural links are already established in the West Midlands area.

Other objectives which will be pursued during the Trade Mission will be:

  • To gain greater knowledge of the Indian economy and business base

  • To advise Indian clients about business in the UK and vice versa

  • To build closer relations with Delhi based law firms

Trade with Indian companies is made easier for UK businesses by the fact that, although the official language of India is Hindi, the business language is English.

Buller Jeffries wishes Caroline and the West Midlands Trade Mission every success on their trip.
