WILL AID - A CHARITABLE PURPOSE

Buller Jeffries participated in Will Aid’s November 2009 campaign.  Hannah Banks (Associate) and Roger Williams (Partner), together with the considerable support of  Deanne Wildsmith, (Secretary) prepared over 40 wills for clients under this scheme.  Instead of charging the normal fee, clients were asked to donate to the Will Aid charities.

Buller Jeffries has recently received confirmation from Will Aid that donations were made of £3,805.  As a result of the Will Aid Scheme, they received over £1,000,000 in donations from solicitors across the country.

The money raised for Will Aid will be put to work by their nine charities which include Action Aid, British Red Cross and the NSPCC.

As a firm, Buller Jeffries feels it is important that as many people as possible make wills, and fully supports publicity that warns people of the problems that can arise when someone dies without one.  It was felt that Will Aid was an opportunity to increase awareness of this issue, as well as raising a significant sum for charity.

Partner Roger Williams commented “It was hard work but gratifying to have helped so many people sort out their affairs.  We are delighted to have exceeded all expectations in the amount of money raised for the Will Aid charities.  The kind remarks made by many of the Will Aid clients was also appreciated.”
